Tl;dr: an active beard oil for face & beard

If you apply beard butter at night before bed, this product was designed with you in mind. With this, you're giving your skin actives to work with, not just moisture. It will also make the beard butter you apply work better. It's a fantastic beard and skin serum to use at night.

RECOVERY is an anhydrous, high-performance active beard oil treatment. Powered by a triple-threat system of 1% thd ascorbate (oil-soluble vitamin c), 1% bakuchiol extract, and 1% coq10, this waterless beard serum smooths the look of rough texture without a single drop of irritation. Housed in a highly limited micro-batch of 50 bottles in a 1.7 oz size bottle, it is an instant-absorbing, non-greasy treatment for your face, beard, and skin beneath your beard. High quality ingredients make all the difference.

This is an unscented product.

The night routine multiplier

If you are a guy who applies beard butter before bed, RECOVERY is your ultimate base layer. By massaging this serum into your skin and follicles first, you condition the skin and soften the hair overnight. This primes the landscape, making whatever beard butter you layer on top significantly more efficient at locking in deep, lasting moisture. It transforms a basic conditioning routine into a high-performance overnight treatment. Simply apply this beefed up beard oil prior to applying the beard butter of your choice.

Why I formulated this

I designed RECOVERY to be an anhydrous serum built around actives that hold up to scrutiny. By bypassing water entirely, I've created a pure, undiluted concentrate. Combining 1% thd ascorbate with 1% bakuchiol and 1% coq10 gives your skin a serious set of ingredients to work with, while deeply conditioning your face and the skin beneath your beard.

Limited micro-batch: only 50 bottles available

Because of the exceptional cost of raw thd ascorbate and pure bakuchiol, I cannot mass-produce this formula. I hand-pour this in a micro-batch of only 50 units using a premium 50ml matte black glass bottle to protect the light-sensitive actives. Once these 50 bottles are gone, they are gone until I source the next lab run.

I source all of the ingredients myself and I use the highest quality available to me.

Full ingredient list:

cold pressed jojoba oil (simmondsia chinensis), cold pressed marula oil (sclerocarya birrea), cold pressed argan oil (argania spinosa), cold pressed meadowfoam seed oil (limnanthes alba), cold pressed shea nut oil (vitellaria paradoxa), cold pressed bakuchi oil (psoralea corylifolia), bakuchiol extract, coq10 (ubiquinone), tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (vitamin c).

Dual-zone performance: why I formulated this. For your face.

  • Retinol-level smoothing: I used a 1% dose of bakuchiol to refine the look of skin texture and soften the appearance of fine lines without the peeling, redness, or sun sensitivity of traditional retinol.

  • CoQ10: I added 1% coq10 because it's a well-established antioxidant in skincare formulation, and one I wanted in a nighttime product.

  • Antioxidant vitamin c: I chose 1% thd ascorbate because it is an oil-soluble form of vitamin c that penetrates the skin's lipid barrier significantly better than cheap ascorbic acid. It's an antioxidant, and this is the form I'd use if I were putting one in a product.

For your beard foundation (under-beard care)

  • Deep follicle nourishment: I chose argan and marula oils to soften coarse beard hairs from the inside out, making the beard manageable while conditioning the skin below.

  • Biocompatible absorption: The base relies heavily on jojoba and meadowfoam seed oil to perfectly mimic your skin's natural sebum. It sinks in instantly to stop beard itch without clogging pores or causing breakouts.

  • Waterless stability: Because this formula is completely anhydrous, the active vitamins stay 100% stable and potent from the first drop to the last, never oxidizing or turning useless.

The ingredient strategy

ingredient my goal for your skin
1.0% bakuchiol extract Plant-based smoothing to refine the look of rough skin texture without irritation, and soften the appearance of lines and uneven tone.
1.0% coq10 A well-established antioxidant, and the reason for the orange tint.
1.0% thd ascorbate Deep-penetrating antioxidant vitamin c for a brighter, more even-looking tone.
jojoba & meadowfoam Liquid waxes that mimic skin sebum for lightning-fast absorption.
marula, argan, shea, & bakuchi Nutrient-dense lipid blend to soften beard hair and relieve dryness.

What you can expect

  • Day 1: The serum disappears into your beard and skin instantly. Tightness and dry itch disappear, leaving a soft, non-greasy finish.

  • Week 2: Skin underneath feels noticeably smoother and flakes are gone. Beard hair feels softer and healthier.

  • Month 1+: Skin texture under and around the beard looks refined and more even.

How to use my protocol

Pump the serum into your palms and massage it into clean, dry or slightly damp skin. Work it thoroughly through your beard all the way down to the skin surface. RECOVERY is designed to be used on your entire face, not just your beard. I designed RECOVERY to absorb deeply, ensuring your skin gets the ingredients it needs without leaving your beard feeling heavy or coated. After applying RECOVERY, apply your preferred beard butter.

  • Note: You'll notice a natural orange tint to the serum. That is not a dye—it is the signature, unadulterated color of pure coq10 in the formula.

Why I chose these ingredients

I don't pick ingredients because they sound impressive. Every active in here is one I went and read about first, and I'd rather show you where I looked than ask you to take my word for it. These are references for the ingredients themselves, not claims about what this bottle will do for your face.
