*Vitamin C is very potent antioxidant. Due to it's potency, some people can have an allergic reaction. The key is to introduce vitamin c slowly. In the beginning use a very small amount once per day, every other day or every two days. If you notice a slight burning or tingling sensation upon first use, that's normal. If that burning sensation lasts longer than a few minutes or starts to cause redness, discontinue use and wash product from face. We've updated our ingredients to now include ferulic acid and kojic acid to help stabilize the l-ascorbic acid.

Vitamin C is a very potent antioxidant. Vitamin c (l-ascorbic acid) protects skin cells from damaging free radicals caused by UV exposure. It also inhibits melanin production in the skin, which helps to lighten hyperpigmentation and brown spots, even out skin tone, and enhance skin radiance. Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant found in grapes, wine, grape juice, peanuts, cocoa, and berries of Vaccinium species, including blueberries, bilberries, and cranberries. In grapes, resveratrol is found only in the skins and this is where most resveratrol is harvested.

Resveratrol has been shown to lighten skin, reduce redness and bumpy textures as well as dullness. Resveratrol has also been shown to reduce acne.

Ferulic Acid is an antioxidant that's been proven to decrease the formation of fine lines and wrinkles, brown spots, and other signs of premature aging. Ferulic acid is a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes free-radical damage from pollution, ultraviolet light, or infrared radiation, all of which accelerate skin aging. It's found in the cell wall of plants like oats, brown rice, peanuts, and oranges. Naturally, ferulic acid is botanically derived, but it can be created in a lab for quality control, consistency, and consumer safety. It mostly comes in a liquid form and can be found in many serums like vitamin c serums.

Kojic Acid is made from several different types of fungi. It’s also a byproduct when certain foods ferment, including Japanese sake, soy sauce, and rice wine. Kojic acid inhibits and prevents the formation of tyrosine, which is an amino acid that’s needed to produce melanin. Melanin is the pigment that affects hair, skin, and eye color. Because it inhibits the production of melanin, kojic acid can have a lightening effect. When used in conjunction with vitamin c it can have a strong skin lightening effect.

 Sodium PCA is a naturally occuring component of human skin that helps maintain healthy skin. It increases the water content in the top layers of the skin by drawing moisture from the surrounding air. Sodium PCA improves the appearance of dehydrated, mature skin. The sodium/salt is what makes the molecule both water-soluble and an effective humectant, drawing water from the atmosphere to the skin and hair to offer hydration. Because of its powerful moisture retaining properties, you'll often find it in concert with hyaluronic acid. Which is exactly what lady kühn does.
